A little over two years ago, before the formation of this label, Nikhil worked on a compilation earmarked as a tribute to the collected works of Raja Ram & Simon Posford. These two timeless artists have consistently been at the forefront of inspiration for thousands of musicians and individuals across the globe - fueling limitless creativity and out-of-the-box expression through their various projects.

One such project was 'Shpongle' - highly influential, paving the way for boundless trance music in the years to follow. Rooted in the early Goa trance movement of the 80s, Shpongle's musical direction was, back then, very unique - delivering bold, rich & atmospheric soundscapes with infectious grooves and syncopated rhythms.

Their debut album - 'Are You Shpongled?' played a huge role in the development of Nikhil's musical taste during his formative years - actively contributing to his growth both as an artist as well as an avid listener of explorative music.

The making of this compilation involved a detailed selection & filtering process, as well as an effective management of different viewpoints & perspectives - either in terms of the overall direction to take with the album / established channels to pitch it to / associations & tie-ups, and even in terms of general ideas / contributions.

Soon after the release of the LP, multiple arguments / differences of opinion began to surface - some weren't comfortable with having their music released on streaming platforms, and some preferred that 100% profits be donated to a charitable cause - which didn't sit well with Nikhil at all.

Unfortunately, at the time of release, Nikhil had not yet established a record label platform - neither was there enough paperwork in place to hold necessary ground for the album.

Narrowing down on the multitude of reasons that ultimately resulted in the commercial failure of this release, we most importantly have :
- Insatiable human greed
- Desperate attempts to capitalize on a given opportunity

Both the above reasons amounted to the removal of the album from the original Bandcamp page that it was uploaded onto. After the compilation was broadcasted on YouTube channel "The Psychedelic Muse", one of the artists who contributed on the album with a track wanted to ensure that the entire release was effectively distributed to all stores / streaming platforms.

This gentlemen also happened to run an electronic music label in Mexico, and somehow managed to convince the other participants (as well as Nikhil himself) that distribution of the album via the network used by this label was, in simple terms - 'the right direction for the album at the time'.

Of course, many participants opted out. However, what originally was a 21-track release (priced at 15e) with 50% of album revenue aimed for donation to an alternative school / educational community in Kodaikanal (South Indian hill station) completely backfired - resulting in the original release no longer being available for purchase / download.

A total of 300 GBP was made from this release during its active period - out of which 150 GBP (exactly 50%) was donated to the school in Kodaikanal.

However, a little over half the original release (13 out of 21 tracks) is currently (very strangely) available on this Mexican electronic music label.

In the light of fairness, as well as rightful ownership over intellectual property - Kosmik Moon Records would like to present the full set of original, untampered 16-bit master files from the 21-track release 'Forever Shpongled', completely free of cost - for everyone to listen to.
